This is the wartime Civilian Residence and Electoral Register of adults of voting age for the Parish of Wimpole. The register was produced in May 1945 for the purposes of the general election on 5 July. Such registers were superseded in October 1945. Curiously, it also includes the village properties on the South side of Cambridge Road which (strictly speaking) were then located within the Parish of Orwell.
The Register is dated the 7th May 1945 which happens to be the day before VE Day (the end of the war in Europe). Many of the younger residents would have been absent, serving in the armed forces.
Where the 1945 addresses can be identified, I have added the modern-day address for general interest [square brackets and italics].
