The above postcard was posted on the 26 October 1906 (Arrington postmark) to a Miss Jenkins of Chingford. The sender was Constance Nellie Newell (born 1889) then 18 years old. Her parents were David (Arrington’s Blacksmith) and Ruth Newell. Nellie was baptized at Arrington’s Parish Church and lived all her life at No 113 Ermine Way (“The Old Forge”) in Arrington. She died in 1972 aged 83.
In the bottom right-hand corner of the image there is some faint writing "Pub by E and H Law" who were believed to be the Croydon shopkeepers (I have other postcards with "E & H Law's Series, Croydon, Cambs" printed on the back).
This postcard is from my collection.
